Join us for Goalball, Yoga, Hiking, and a Turkey Trot benefitting MWABA! Congratulations to our women’s goalball team for taking first place at the tournament in Chicago!

Goalball

· Come to goalball practice on November 7th from 10 AM to 1 PM at 1480 Girard Street NW, DC.

Yoga

· Join us for yoga on November 14th at Columbia Heights Community Center located at 1480 Girard Street NW, Washington D.C. from 2-3 PM with Jennifer Hanft. Please sign up by Thursday afternoon and bring your own yoga mat if you have one along with a towel to serve as a bolster. We will also have our Circle Yoga class on Sunday, November 15th with Bonnie Foote from 3:20-4:30PM located at 3838 Northampton St. NW, Washington, D.C. November Hike

· Our next MWABA hike is on November 21st at Loudoun Heights in Harpers Ferry, WV. We will meet at the Medical Center Metro at 8AM and carpool together. Please email mwaba.inc if you’re available to drive. Note: this is a challenging hike because of rocks and elevation. Sign Up ASAP for a 5K or 10K Turkey Trot Benefitting MWABA

· Bishop Events and the 2026 South Run organizers will be teaming with MWABA this Thanksgiving for their 5K and 10K foot races. Proceeds from this year’s event will be gifted to MWABA. Let’s show our appreciation with a strong showing from MWABA. Start training now to run/walk, or plan to come out and cheer on our runners. The races will be held on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday November 26th. The start and finish lines will be at the South Run RecCenter, 7550 Reservation Dr. in Springfield VA. Other Activities

· Register for Catalyst’s Adaptive Learn to Ski/Snowboard event January 25-28, 2027 at Beech Mountain Resort, North Carolina. Registration opens up today and spots fill up fast! Adaptive Skiing | Catalyst Sports

· Jesah Jackson’s church is going to the Wizards game on November 16, and you can buy tickets for $14 per person, including a hotdog. The Wizards will be playing the Grizzlies. For more information, please contact Jesah at 571-268-5141.

· The MD Adult Blind Soccer team has free practices until mid-November at the Maryland School for the Blind. Blind and low-vision adults are invited to try a practice! Contact Coach Tim Taylor at the Maryland School for the Blind by calling: 410-444-5000.

· CAF grants – The Challenged Athletes Foundation grant opens September 28th and closes November 13th. mwaba.inc if you’re interested in applying and if you have questions or need assistance.
