Hello MWABA,

Join us for Tandem Biking, Goalball, our June Social, a Bird Walk, and order Bike Jerseys by June 15th! Check out the Capital Trails Coalition Summit and information about tennis, football, and women’s cricket.

Tandem Rides

· Sign up by Tuesday night at 8 p.m. for our Thursday night tandem ride in Eastern Market and our Friday night tandem ride in Bethesda! https://forms.gle/YAdsEQbKSpZABg2Y7

Goalball

· Come to Goalball on June 20th from 10 AM to 1 PM at 1480 Girard St. NW, DC.

Bike Jerseys

· MWABA is ordering a new batch of “Tandemonium” Bike Jerseys! Sign up here by June 15th if you’d like to place an order: https://forms.gle/DeM5N81tEHhrmYM7A We’ll get both short and long-sleeve jerseys if there’s enough interest. The jersey is yellow and light orange, with the blue, red, and white MWABA logo on the front. The back has pink cherry blossoms, says "Join the TANDEMONIUM at gomwaba.org!" and has the Terrapin bike store logo. The sleeves have tandems on them and the sides say gomwaba.org. Short-sleeve jerseys will probably cost between $45-$55 each, and long-sleeve jerseys will probably cost between $55-$65 each. Jerseys are available in men’s and women’s fits, and in sizes from XS-4XL.

· Terrapin Bicycles is sponsoring our jerseys and is offering our dues-paying members a 20% discount on parts and accessories (not labor). If you’re interested in using the discount, email mwaba.inc and we’ll share your contact information with Terrapin.

Social June 24th

· Join MWABA for our first ever trivia night! We will gather at the Irish Channel Pub, 500 H St NW, on Wednesday, June 24. Trivia begins at 7 PM but recommend you arrive by 6:45 PM. We will divide into multiple teams with at least one sighted person each. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.

Bird Walk on June 27th

· Sign up for a bird walk with the D.C. Bird Alliance on Saturday, June 27th at Rock Creek Park Golf Course (6100 16th St. NW, D.C.) from 9-11 a.m. They have a large deck at the clubhouse where we can listen for many species. There are chairs there, and guests are welcome to bring their own blankets or chairs, as well. We can also take short walks on some of the trails.

· Adaptive Football Event June 25th: Contact Jocelyn Hunter at Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind at jhunter for details about a special adaptive football sports day on June 25th. This activity will be hosted by Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind and will take place at 10:00 at EL Haynes Public Charter School. It is mainly for youth who are blind or visually impaired, but adults are eligible to participate. Every participant must complete a waiver that you can receive by contacting Jocelyn.

· Blind Cricket Women’s National Team: Reach out to Anna (469-235-8417) if you’re interested.
