Hello MWABA,

Run for the MWABA Board, call for Annual Dues, and join us for Goalball, Yoga, and Bike Maintenance Workshops!

Board Member Elections

· MWABA will have elections for multiple openings on the Board of Directors. Board member terms last for three years. We request interested individuals to please review the board member qualifications and descriptions that are attached to this email.

· If you are interested, please email a short paragraph describing the reasons why you are seeking to join the MWABA Board and why you believe you are qualified to do so by January 31, 2026 to mwaba.inc. If you have any questions or need any more information please email mwaba.inc.

2026 Membership Dues

· It’s time to renew your membership! Call for 2026 annual dues. Dues are $25.00 and cover your membership until December 31, 2026. Annual dues help support all of the activities and events that we organize throughout the year: goalball, tandem cycling, yoga, kayaking, hiking, beep kickball, camping, etc. as well as social gatherings and community outreach efforts. We plan to bring you even more exciting opportunities in the coming year! Dues also cover your ability to request financial assistance for participation in other sporting activities, and the right to vote on and run for MWABA board positions. Dues can be paid via Venmo, user name: @MWABADC or Paypal, user name: treasurer mwaba.inc and we will work with you on a case by case basis. Dues are requested to be paid by January 31, 2026.

Goalball

· Come to Goalball on January 31st from 10 AM to 1 PM at 1480 Girard St. NW, DC.

Yoga

Bike Maintenance Workshop Series – Part 2

· We are excited to continue our Bike Maintenance Workshop Series this February, a hands-on, learn-by-doing experience! Blind athletes will be paired with sighted guides to work together on diagnosing and fixing some of the tandems in our fleet.

· This series includes three sessions:

· Session 1: Diagnosing what needs to be replaced, adjusted, oiled or cleaned on the tandem bike

· Sessions 2 & 3: Hands-on repairs and maintenance

· Location: REI (201 M Street, Northeast, Washington DC)

· Time: 6:00–8:45 PM (please arrive 15 minutes early so that we can start on time)

· Dates: Thursdays Feb 12th, Feb 19th, and Feb 26th
