Template for Giving Tuesday:
Dear [Recipient],
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to share something close to my heart and invite you to join me in supporting a cause that’s making a real difference in our DMV community.
I’m proud to be involved with the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA), an incredible organization that empowers visually impaired individuals through sports and recreational activities. MWABA’s programs, ranging from goalball and hiking to tandem cycling, help blind and visually impaired people improve their health, build confidence, and experience the joy of active living. Personally, I’ve benefited greatly from these programs [].
In 2024, over 100 people participated in MWABA activities including goalball, tandem biking, hiking, yoga, beep kickball, beep baseball, and kayaking. We welcomed India’s blind cricket team for a cricket demonstration, celebrated the paralympics at the White House, did our second annual tandem bike camping trip, and grew our tandem fleet.
Right now, we have a unique opportunity to amplify our impact. A generous donor has pledged $1,000 in matching funds for our current campaign. This means that every dollar you contribute will be doubled, allowing us to reach our goal of securing $1,000 per month in recurring donations. These funds are vital for sustaining and expanding MWABA’s programs, from purchasing adaptive sports equipment to organizing events and training volunteers.
You can help in several ways:
- Make a one-time donation, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
- Set up a monthly recurring donation. Even a small amount makes a huge difference.
- Share this message with others who might be interested in supporting MWABA.
Your support will directly impact visually impaired individuals in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, helping them lead more active, connected, and fulfilling lives. If you’d like to contribute, please visit the donation page of our website. Remember, every contribution helps, and recurring donations are especially valuable for the long-term sustainability of our programs.
Thank you for considering this request. If you have any questions or want to know more about how your donation will be used, don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of visually impaired athletes in our community.
Best regards,
[Your Name]
P.S. Don’t forget — your donation will be matched, doubling your impact. Let’s take full advantage of this opportunity to support MWABA! Donate today!
