Blind Cricket is here!
Please save the date for an exciting opportunity to learn the game of cricket with the national blind cricket team of India! When: Wednesday, August 14 from 4pm to 7pm
Where: Jefferson Field, 801 7th St. SW, Washington DC. If you are getting dropped off, the entrance to the field is in the northwest corner of 7th and H Streets SW. If driving to the event, try pulling into H Street and parking at the dead end in front of the school. The nearest metro station is L’Enfant Plaza
What: Members of the Indian blind cricket team will offer participants a short lesson on how to play blind cricket, after which we will join them in a demo cricket match to try out our new skills.
Social Hour: Everyone will gather after the demo for food, drinks, and socializing with the team at Boardwalk Bar & Arcade, located at 715 Wharf St. SW (we will likely arrive there around 7:30pm).
Don’t miss out on what promises to be an action-packed, fun-filled, cross-cultural event! Pre-registration is not required—just show up and be ready to play! The MWABA bike jerseys have arrived! Email mwaba.inc@gmail.com or call or text Shira (847-217-9505) to buy one–you can get them at a tandem ride or the cricket event, or make other arrangements. Jerseys cost $40 for dues-paying members and captains who’ve ridden in 2024, or otherwise $50 (if you’re buying more than one jersey, the second one costs $50). If you pre-ordered one you’ll get first dibs, but we ordered some extras if you didn’t already order one. We also have jerseys with random designs (not MWABA ones), for sale for $20 or best offer.
