Reminder to sign up for MWABA’s July hike this Sunday in Patapsco State Park. Please sign up by Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. We could also use more guides and/or drivers. Email Kevin (kevin.andrews94) if you can drive or if you have any questions.
We’ll be visiting Patapsco Valley State Park in Maryland, aiming to start around 9:30am. We will meet at the Takoma metro stop (on the Red Line) at 8:30 a.m. and drive to the park. Depending on group preferences, there are a couple of options:
• This 5.7 mile option:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47363383 Starts in the Avalon area at picnic grove 105, then hikes on a dirt path with some ups and downs, rocks, and water crossings for 3.3 miles, then crosses a waterfall, goes across a suspension bridge, and then back on a paved path.
• If anyone prefers to mainly walk on the paved path, it’ll be a 4.4 mile out and back. We might also be able to park closer to the waterfall and suspension bridge at the Orange Grove area.
Patapsco costs $3 per person. If folks have any concerns about the cost, please reach out.
We’re excited to have you on the trails with us!
