Hi all, and sorry for getting this email out late due to the holiday weekend.

I hope everyone is enjoying the last days of summer (though the weather makes it feel like summer will be with us a while longer).

Join us for Goalball at the Columbia Heights Community Center this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The address is 1480 Girard Street NW, Washington, DC.

Every month Catalyst runs an indoor rock climbing session at Sportrock climbing gym in Alexandria for people with a variety of disabilities, and MWABA members are invited to attend. Registering as a Catalyst member ahead of time is required, but is free. The next Catalyst climb is taking place on Sunday, September 17 from 4:30-6:30 PM; you can register here:

The 2024 Challenged Athletes Foundation annual grant application is now open. Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for a grant! CAF’s flagship grant program aims to remove the barriers that exist between adaptive athletes and their pursuit of sport and fitness. CAF’s mission is to empower people with physical disabilities through sport and fitness. For more information and to apply, please review the link provided. Applications for Annual Grant are accepted September 1 – November 3, 2023.

Master naturalist Meg Hathaway is leading our next MWABA hike at Roosevelt Island on September 17th. We’ll meet at the Rosslyn metro stop at 10 and the hike will be about 3 miles (including the walk to Roosevelt Island. Please sign up at the link below, if interested.
